Managed Cassandra has two very different pricing shapes. DataStax Astra DB is serverless: you pay per read request unit (RRU), per write request unit (WRU), plus storage per GB-month and data transfer, with a generous free monthly allowance (around 30M reads / 4.5M writes / 40 GB). NetApp Instaclustr is node-based: a per-node-hour management fee on top of the underlying cloud VM, with developer nodes from about $20/month and small production nodes from roughly $250/month (a 3-node production cluster ~$750/month). DataStax Astra is now part of IBM watsonx.data, so some exact rates moved to IBM Cloud docs.
